Dr. Bostrom

DVM

Dr. Bostrom received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida in 1988 and the earned his DVM from the University of Florida Veterinary College in 1993 and has over 30 years of experience with dogs, cats and reptiles. Dr. Bostrom has lived in MI, MD, and Fl with Utah being his permanent home. Dr. Bostrom’s dad was also a veterinarian, which instilled his desire to follow that career path. Dr. Bostrom has worked as an associate veterinarian, an ER veterinarian, with the Humane Society, and currently as a Medical Director for a busy small animal practice. In addition to an amazing wife and four beautiful kids Dr. Bostrom has dogs, cats, turtles and snakes. He also loves to hike, go birding, playing pickleball and is lifelong Gator fan.

Dr. Nelson

DVM

Dr. Nelson attended Utah State University where she received her Bachelor's in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Science. In May of 2019, she graduated from the WIMU Regional Program in Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. Her interests include public health, small animal preventative medicine and nutrition, surgery, and small ruminants. Dr. Nelson and her partner have a full house with their daughter, three cats, and a dog that keep them busy and entertained. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, painting, crafts, and going on adventures. Dr. Nelson is a huge sports fan, and loves watching and keeping up on her favorite teams.

Shanna

Practice Manager

Shanna brings 19 years of experience in veterinary medicine, beginning her career as a certified veterinary technician after graduating from Broadview University. Her diverse background includes working in general practice, emergency care, and the boarding, grooming, and daycare sectors. Shanna is particularly passionate about animal behavior, physical health, and client education. Since 2021, she has served as the Practice Manager at Wilson Veterinary Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son Neyo and two dogs, Maui and Tonka.

Maddie

Lead Veterinary Technician

Maddie is the lead veterinary technician at Wilson Veterinary Hospital and has been with the team since 2021. Prior to that, she spent a year as a veterinary technician at the Humane Society of Utah. Her passion for animal care is profound—she is a proud pet parent to three wonderful animals and treats every pet that comes through the clinic with the same love and attention she gives her own. Maddie's goal is to ensure that every pet receives the best possible care and to make a positive impact on their lives. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and reading.

Taylor

Veterinary Technican

Taylor began her career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) nine years ago. After marrying a veterinarian, she was introduced to veterinary medicine and quickly developed a passion for the field. Soon after, she started working alongside her husband in veterinary practice as a Vet Tech. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending quality time with her family, particularly swimming and enjoying outdoor activities with her two children and husband.

Mykallen

Veterinary Assistant

Mykallen joined Wilson Veterinary Hospital in March of 2024 and is enjoying the experience. Her interest in veterinary medicine began with an internship at a vet clinic during her senior year of high school. She then attended a technical college where he became certified as a veterinary assistant. Mykallen worked as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant for over a year and completed more than 240 hours of shadowing in various clinics during his time in school. She is eager to continue gaining knowledge and growing in his role at Wilson Veterinary Hospital. Outside of work, Mykallen has a 3-year-old Golden/Poodle mix named Phynnlie, who loves accompanying her on hikes, paddle boarding, and relaxing by the campfire.

Mia

Veterinary Assistant

Mia is a veterinary assistant at Wilson Vet Clinic. She completed her vet assisting certification at Jordan Applied Technology Center, where she discovered her passion for animal care. Mia also earned an IB degree in Veterinary Science from high school, which has been instrumental in shaping her career path. Currently, she’s a sophomore at Utah State University, majoring in Bioveterinary Science. When she’s not working or studying, Mia enjoys relaxing with her dog, Maru, and her gecko, Bucket. They’re a big part of her life and keep her motivated in her career.

Ryan

Ryan has worked in and out of the veterinary field since he was 17, holding various positions throughout his career. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in business. Ryan has experience on the corporate side, the private side, and everything in between, having worked in Emergency, Specialty, and General care facilities. He truly considers himself an ambassador for clients and their pets. Outside of work, Ryan can often be found at the gym, socializing with friends, or watching movies.
